Walter Van Beiren- donck is a Belgian fashion designer based in Antwerp. In 1983, two years after he graduated from the Royal Academy of fine Arts Antwerp's fashion department, he returned there as a professor, a position he maintains. Over the last two decades he has also designed and produced his own fashion collections - recognisable by either strong graphics or innovating cuts and unexpected colour combinations - under the labels Walter Van Beirendonck, Walter Worldwide, W.&L. T and Aesthetic-terrorists by Walter. Along with producing his collections, he's curated exhibitions and led think-tanks for a wide range of fashion and commercial organisations and designed costumes for theatre, ballet, films and U2's 1998 tour, POPMART. |
